Ideology Inventory

According to the Ideology Inventory, I identify most with Risk, Resilience, and Prevention. When it comes to dealing with children I believe in being someone they can look up to, trust, and learn with. Many children do not have the supports they need at home and desperately need someone to help guide them in the right direction.

I truly believe this is my opportunity to equip them with knowledge and skills they will need to become successful and self-sufficient. As a youth worker I also know the importance of understanding the differences between each child and their social/cultural norms. It is more effective when you are speaking the same language and presenting information appropriate for that audience.

  1. I also identify with the same one you got. I agree that we have to be role models for our youngest children and for the youth. It is true that we need to make sure the youth have the support they need. Also to make sure that each youth gets the apporiate information based on their needs and wants.

  2. Having a more deeper understanding of a child's background and what they are familiar with is EXTREMELY important when working with youth. They may look at things differently based on where they are from and/or how they are being raised at home, so understanding this and being open to learning new cultural norms and educating others on norms different than their own can make a huge difference on how communities and individuals can communicate and work together.

  3. I think its interesting that both you and Christina identify similarly. You both are striving to do what is best for youth and be good role models - I wonder if a piece of this identity is reflective of you both being a mom?

  4. I came up with the result for Positive Youth Development. I is amazing that you have used this quiz as an opportunity to empower yourself as a youth worker, as well as being able to promote leadership for our youth with Risk, Resiliency and Prevention.
